James R. Shanahan is a retired partner in the Washington National Tax Services office of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he served as the global leader of the firm's Research and Development Incentives Group. While at PwC, Jim specialized in tax issues arising in complex intellectual property transactions, including tax planning, transfer pricing, and controversies with the IRS.
     James has broad industry experience in federal tax matters, including the special tax incentives afforded US innovation. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California and the District of Columbia; a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the District of Columbia Association of Certified Public Accountants.
