Eric Franklin Amarante

Mr. Amarante is an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Community Economic Development Clinic at the University of Tennessee College of Law. The clinic provides free legal representation to nonprofit organizations, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists. Prior to joining UT, he taught at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Before academia, he worked in private practice in Seattle, focusing on merger and acquisition transactions, contracts, including licensing, employment, and asset purchase agreements, and general corporate issues, including equity incentive plan compliance, securities filings, and corporate governance. He holds a Juris Doctor from Cornell University Law School, where he served as Editor of the Cornell Law Review, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the Tennessee, California, and Washington state bars.
